We were having trouble with our internet yesterday & the pictures with commentary didn't post so here they are out of order:

Pedro & his nephew moved the rock into our garage & compacted everything. Meanwhile, the crew put OSB on the two long walls & started framing smaller walls.

Met this morning with a rep from BJ's Truss. The changes required by Marion County mean we can't have the 8 foot French doors with a transom above in the living room. Had to call Dan at Frere's Lumber & change our order to a set of 6' 8" French doors with an 18" transom above. Lynna was satisfied with this change & thinks it will look OK. We should have most of the walls up by day's end.

The East & West walls are framed & ready for the OSB tomorrow. We ordered the Entry & French doors today and Lynna got a magnet to pick up some of the nails that are scattered around the site & our driveway. The basement pour went well and the flatwork guys are just doing the final trowel work. I took Peaches out for a long training session this afternoon and she did well at all the exercises but she is still easily distracted. Anything from a piece of chewing gum on the ground to a jogger can turn her head.

Lynna in her kitchen & dining nook

Lynna was able to walk through her house. It was a little hard to envision where everything would be, but she could see the little view we have from the family room and dining nook.

Framing

The crew made good progress today. The Truss-Joists were hung in the basement ceiling & all the 3/4" deck is down on our master bedroom suite. The 1 1/8" deck is about 1/3 done. John & Ron are coming back on Saturday to finish it and they will be ready to start the main walls on Monday.

Wall Framing

We have our first wall framed up. This is the outside wall of the daylight basement which will be used for basement storeage & a workshop. The Frere's Lumber truck came late yesterday & delivered our floor panels which should all be installed by friday.

Posts, Beams

Today we finished the Posts and Beams portion of the floor framing. Still need to frame the daylight basement portion, hang the Truss Joists and lay the deck floor.

The inspector just left & we are OK to pour the basement slab. Unfortunately, my flatwork contractor doesn't want to chance rain messing up his finish work, so we are tentatively scheduled to pour Monday the 25th or whenever we next get a dry day. It hasn't rained so far today & probably will hold off until tonight. Finding a dry day will be a challenge this time of year, but eventually there will be walls & a roof to keep everything dry. John expects to complete the post & beam framing in the crawlspace area today.

Ron & John spent part of their Saturday working. They finished stripping the forms from the walls, looks real clean. Only problem is minor, I forgot to show the small entrance door to the garage. Ron & John say they can cut the opening for me.
